THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC THE ABBA SHOW

The ABBA show started in 1985 in Christchurch New Zealand for a six week cabaret season. It was so successful after the six weeks that the season was extended for six months.

After this time the show went on tour and 24 years later, it is still on tour! Performing to sell out shows all over the world and with the show booking for the next four years it looks like the ABBA journey has only just begun.

The ABBA brand is never very far away from reinventing itself. Thanks to the movies “Muriel’s Wedding” and “Priscilla: Queen Of The Desert”, in the 90’s saw a massive resurgence and during the new decade “Mamma Mia” stage show and in 2008 the movie has seen a giant increase in the popularity of Swedish Super Group once again.

The cast of ABBAsolutely fABBAulous all agree on one thing, “ABBA’s music is fun, the costumes are wacky, they are not something you wear around town, but are ideal to take everybody back to the great musical era of the 70’s”. The performance covers all the great ABBA songs: Dancing Queen, Waterloo, Mamma Mia, I Do I DO I DO, Ring Ring, Rock Me, the list goes on and on. In total 30 Musical Memories are performed at each show. You will also get to witness Agnetha and Frida’s greatest costumes.

Born in Australia and now calls Hamburg, Germany home, David Christopher has more than 15 years of performance experience around the world and plays the role of Benny. As a singer/songwriter himself, he brings to the show his admiration for the enduring song craft of Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson. Growing up in the seventies, he was exposed to a steady diet of ABBA music courtesy of his parent’s record collection. It was tracks such as S.O.S. and Knowing Me, Knowing You that helped inspire him to become a musician.

David Thompsons’ fondest memories as a child, “was dancing around the house with a Tennis Racquet as a guitar pretending I was Bjorn from the super group ABBA”. I knew all the songs off by heart. I’m now lucky enough to be playing the part of Bjorn, Star guitar, lycra and boots, it’s a fun gig bringing the ABBA magic to the world in ABBAsolutely fABBAulous. It is a treat as an entertainer and musician to perform to audiences and playing all the great ABBA classics.

Heidi is perfect to perform as Anni-Frida. It’s a role that really suits her personality and her amazing vocal range. Heidi say’s, “I love all the ABBA songs and I remember as a little girl watching Top Of The Pops, Fernando video clip, I was so impressed and have grown up to my big sister playing all their songs.” Heidi’s favourite’s are Money Money and Lay All Your Love On Me. She’s looking forward to sharing her love of this music with all the fans of ABBA.

Erinn, a dynamic artist from Brisbane, Australia, performs in the role of Agnetha. Erinn is known mostly for her work with the performance and industry sides of the Australian music scene as a songwriter, performer, and talent scout for major and independent record labels. She has been performing professionally as a singer, dancer and actor for the last decade. Although she was too young for ABBA the first time around, she is no stranger to their music.

As you could imagine the show even revives all the great choreographed movers made famous by the ABBA girls and tries out by millions with a hairbrush in front of a mirror. With over 3250 performances the London Times sums it up the best of all.

“ THIS SHOW IS A TIME WARP OF FUN "
